Foróige mobilises workforce at speed.
SureSkills delivers an agile and cost effective IT partnership.
With remote working being enforced on the majority of the Irish working population including Foróige, the task of mobilising the workforce was delivered immediately by the IT team supported by SureSkills.
Just prior to the Covid-19 crisis Foróige, had invested in a robust, modern, technical solution to the charity’s IT infrastructure challenges. Foróige now runs its primary IT in the cloud, with backups on site. The project also helped to reduce the number of physical servers from 10 back to two and fostered the roll out a new IP Telecom cloud based telephone service.
When the Covid-19 crisis struck, the immediate challenge was having a workforce in Park West who had never worked remotely before. SureSkills IT team, quickly enabled this leveraging the new infrastructure. Doing this was critical because Government funding relies on Foróiges’ services never shutting down.
Since the new infrastructure went into production, Foróige has experienced better performance to end users, and greater reliability, stability and protection of its IT systems. This has led to fewer issues for the IT department to deal with.
Adrian O’Donnell IT manager, Foróige praised SureSkills on their ability to address this situation in a prompt and efficient manner. "Foróige moved from an on-premises to cloud-based infrastructure in January. We thought the major immediate wins would be better service, reduced costs, higher reliability- little did we know!”
O’Donnell for Foróige went on to say: “The fast pace of escalation of the Covid-19 pandemic has left many businesses struggling to cope with the new working restrictions. With our cloud based infrastructure, we have been able to deploy our office-based staff to work from home, with no loss of services. Through quickly mobilizing the workforce to work remotely, we were able to ensure work was still successfully handled, despite the staff not leaving their home. We would not have been able to do this in any way with our old system, and far from being another thing to worry about, our cloud infrastructure has been one of the great wins, something that, even in these circumstances, just worked. Mission accomplished!"
