Summary:
I am proud to kick off the second season of the Learn to Grow Podcast with special guest [Heather McGowan](https://www.heathermcgowan.com/), co-author (with Chris Shipley) of [The Adaptation Advantage](https://www.heathermcgowan.com/adaptation-advantage). Heather is renowned internationally as a keynote speaker, a [regular Forbes contributor](https://www.forbes.com/sites/heathermcgowan/?sh=50b18a4317f0), and a [futurist outlining how learning and adaptation are crucial to our personal and professional lives](https://www.forbes.com/sites/heathermcgowan/2021/02/03/human-capital-era-reality-the-skills-gap-may-never-close/?sh=5ed1cfbd2eb0).
In our conversation we discuss:
- Why the pace of change is faster than ever…and will never be this slow again
- The three A’s: Atomization, Automation, and Augmentation
- The three questions that show how invested we are in our professional identities
- Why engagement tails off in school, and then the workplace!
- The education to workplace pipeline
- Why we need to add capacity every time we hand off a task to automation
- Digital transformation as a learning-centric culture that leverages data
- Why the conditions in which we create will be more important than our products and services
- Why we all need to ABL - Always Be Learning
