Just announced by VMware today is the latest strategic VMware partnership which will allow VMware users the ability to run VMware on Google Cloud Servers. This is great news for customers who require a multi-cloud option in their IT deployment (this will be of great interest to our public sector customers).
This announcement means that VMware is now available on all three major cloud vendors, AWS cloud, Microsoft Azure cloud and now Google cloud. All three public cloud providers give you a ready-to-use VMware platform in a matter of minutes, ready for you to deploy VMs using your familiar platform management tools.
The only difference in the public cloud offerings is that VMware provisions and supports VMware on AWS natively, while both Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure are provisioned and supported by CloudSimple (a VMware Cloud Verified partner). CloudSimple provides full, native access to the VMware stack including vSphere/vCenter, vSAN and NSX-T. Behind the scenes on Google Cloud, CloudSimple handles all deployments, upgrades, availability and support required to keep the platform running and resolve any issues that may arise.
VMware customers can choose to connect their on-premise private cloud to Google Cloud using either NSX or VeloCloud SD-WAN to seamlessly and securely connect IT infrastructures together. (see how quickly: https://youtu.be/MoVvsVzc88E )
All three Public cloud environments give VMware customers the same vSphere, vSAN and NSX infrastructure deployed As a Service (IT AaS).
