I have just recently had to re-certify my VMware accreditations, and like so many previous times, I had to schedule a fair amount of preparation time. This preparation time involved catching up on the new relevant vSphere 6.7 material, gaining many hours of hands-on experience and then finally studying for the actual exam itself. If you have been in the ‘game’ as long as I have, then this is a 2 yearly chore which can be very time consuming.
Today I discovered that VMware has made it much easier to upgrade, and I’m delighted to share this with you.
If you are VCP6.5-DCV certified, you have 2 Upgrade Options:
Or
vSphere Optimize & Scale (6.7), or
vSphere Optimize & Scale plus Troubleshooting Fastrack (6.7), or
vSphere What’s New (5.5 to 6.7), or
vSphere Fastrack (6.7), or
vSphere Troubleshooting Workshop (6.7), or
Advanced Skills for vSphere Professional Workshop (6.7)
If you are VCP5-DCV or VCP6-DCV certified, you have 2 Upgrade Options:
There is NO Training course attendance requirement – But unless you work with vSphere 6.7 daily, its highly recommended!
These are the recommended upgrade courses:
vSphere Fastrack (6.7)
vSphere Install, Configure & Manage (6.7)
vSphere Optimize and Scale (6.7)
vSphere Optimize and Scale plus Troubleshooting (6.7)
vSphere Troubleshooting Workshop (6.7)
Advanced Skills for vSphere Professional Workshop (6.7)
If you are VCP6 (CMA or NV), or VCP7 (CMA or DTM), or VCP-DTM 2019 certified, you can upgrade by taking just 1 exam:
vSphere Professional 6.7 exam 2019.
